WHAT IS A COVER CROP?
A simple or diverse mix of annual and/or perennial species that are grown for the protection and enrichment of the soil.
WHY SHOULD I USE A COVER CROP?
Cover crops work to keep the ground covered and to always have live roots in the soil. We encourage the use of cover crops to add diversity, to feed to microbiome in the soil (aka Soil Livestock), which in turn aids the health of the plant and is known to increase crop yield.
The use of cover crops can help to:
"A farm that invests in cover crops is a farm that invests in its future."
